Testimony of Favors Received Through the Intercession of Paul M. Murphy, MJ
My name is Mabel. I first knew about Paul M. Murphy through a friend, Angie, when we used to work together during my initial practice with the company. At that time, I read a small leaflet on the life and virtues of the Servant of God and was very impressed with his jovial character even in the midst of his difficulties and sickness.
After some time, I went to Mary Immaculate bookstore in Mesa where I found a card with Paul's picture. I prayed with that card for some time, but it was not until I met the Miles Jesu consecrated women that I really got to know the life of Paul and about the many favors granted through his intercession. I visited the house where he died and saw his bed and a few of his personal belongings that are preserved in the Miles Jesu women's community house.
I have a very dear friend in Puerto Rico, Marisol, who suffers from chronic asthma. At the beginning of March 2006, she fell gravely ill with respiratory depression. She went into a coma shortly after that and doctors were going to remove the respiratory tubes. Marisol had expressed her wish that if her condition worsened and she fell into a coma to remove the tubes. On March 6, another friend of mine called from Puerto Rico asking me to pray for Marisol because doctors had given up all hope of recovery and had said that there was not anything humanly possible to do for her. I was at the Miles Jesu women's community when I received the call.
I immediately went into the chapel and began to pray the rosary, asking Paul to grant my friend the favor of coming out of the coma and recuperating. The next day, March 7th, I received another phone call from my friend telling me that Marisol was out of the coma. Only once after her recovery did the doctors have to reinsert the respirator tube, and then only for a day. A few days later Marisol was released from the hospital. The doctors were surprised at her speedy recovery and she is now at home in stable condition.
